I am looking for information on the "galant" composer Ferdinand Seidel. Apart from the fact that he published his 12 Minuets in 1757, is there any more information extant? According to its preface, the 1757 print was meant as a "teaser"; more music by "the best lutenist in Germany" would be forthcoming in case the 1757 print would be well received by interested audiences. Does "best lutenist" refer to Seidel himself?
